Scalar International has published Brand Guidelines v1.0, the standard that now governs how the firm presents itself across every market and medium — from investor letters to a LinkedIn post to the walls of four offices on three continents.

Why now

Founded in Brooklyn in 2021, Scalar has grown from a single fund thesis into an infrastructure and real assets manager operating across the full energy transition value chain: critical minerals, clean energy, and ventures & tech. With four offices — New York, Luxembourg, Cape Town, and Mauritius — running one mandate, the firm needed a visual and verbal system precise enough to hold together across regions, funds, and audiences. Brand Guidelines v1.0 is that system.

The mark

The radiating icon and the serif wordmark are one fixed lockup. The two elements are never separated, rescaled independently, or re-spaced — on stationery, in an email signature, or on a social banner, the mark appears exactly as specified.

Minimum size is 120px wide for the full lockup online (24px for the icon alone) and 25mm in print (6mm for the icon alone), with at least one mark-height of clear space free on every side. The mark is never stretched, rotated, recolored, or given effects.

Color palette

Navy anchors the system as the primary color, with Signal Blue reserved as a secondary accent for links, data, and calls to action. The working ratio is 60% navy, 30% neutral paper, and 10% signal blue — blue is an accent, never a flood.

Typography

Geist Light carries every headline and section title, set tight and light — the weight never goes above Regular, even at small sizes, so hierarchy comes from size and space rather than boldness. Inter handles all running text, captions, labels, and tables: Regular for body copy, Medium or Semibold for labels and emphasis.

Voice & tone

Four principles govern every sentence Scalar puts into the world.

01

Precise

Numbers, standards and named partners over vague claims of impact.

Say: “250 MW deployed.”
Not: “A lot of clean energy.”
02

Grounded

Operational language — site visits, tranches, exits — never financial jargon for its own sake.

Say: “Present from first site visit through exit.”
Not: “Value-add throughout the lifecycle.”
03

Purposeful

Every claim ties financial return to a real-world outcome, stated plainly.

Say: “Returns and impact, structurally aligned.”
Not: “Doing well by doing good.”
04

Global

One mandate across the US, Europe and Africa — write as one firm, not three regional offices.

Say: “Four offices, three continents, one mandate.”
Not: “Our African team…”

Photography & iconography

Imagery is drawn from real infrastructure, real people, and real scale — aerial energy assets, glass architecture, and site visits across four continents — never stock abstractions. A navy duotone overlay unifies photography from New York, Luxembourg, Cape Town, and Mauritius into one consistent look. Iconography follows the same logic: thin, single-weight line icons at 1.5px stroke, echoing the radiating linework of the mark, navy on light backgrounds and white on navy.
